Why do we like this?

What do you get when you combine arguably Jamie xx's best solo song yet with the techno-influenced stylings of Canadian producer Eekkoo?

A beautiful blend of different worlds, it seems.

From the first phrase onwards, Eekkoo's remix is fuller and faster, but that sparse uncertainty and the somber cloudiness of the original isn't lost for a second. The beat is steady yet gentle, demanding without overpowering even slightly. Romy's vocals are as haunting as ever while those keys chime in at exactly the right moments.

The original track here is one of those songs with an atmosphere so pristine, that twisting it too far out of shape could've gone down hill. However, Eekkoo has done a really masterful job. This is magnificent.
