Why do we like this?

"Our Party" samples from Janelle Monáe's "What An Experience," and Alicia Keys' "No One" to create the perfect late-night poetry. Jesse Boykins III generally inspires the soul, but there's something especially sentimental here.

Maybe because it's 4 am as I'm writing this (creative insomnia), but the music floats between consciousness and a timeless dream love. Jesse's voice serenades effortlessly and with effort, before leaving us to bask in a sweet calm, and in my case, a sweet slumber.
