Why do we like this?
Two months ago I premiered "Fucking Numb," a track by Dallas-based MC/producer Johnny Astro that I said would hold us over while he cooked up another hit for our listening pleasure. Well, prepare your ears for a treat because it is with great honor that I present the exclusive premiere of Astro's new single, "The SkyWalkers."
I am a huge fan of everything about this tune: Astro's flow/wordplay, the Coldplay sample, the creativity, the passion. Real must simply recognize real. In many ways it feels like a natural progression from one of my favorites, "The Intro (The Kingdom Burns)," a previous Astro hip-hop track that also incorporates pop, alternative and electronic elements.
"The SkyWalkers" will be available for free download later today on Astro's SoundCloud. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the track and show some love for Johnny Astro and Indie Shuffle by sharing the good vibes.
