Why do we like this?

Toronto singer/producer Joseph of Mercury has previously worked with the likes of Nelly Furtado. Now he's branching out on his own; his self-titled debut EP is out next month. 

His latest cut "Angel" is bluesy – a spiritual heir (pun) to perhaps Hozier's "Take Me To Church." He has a throwback vibe in his crooning, to be sure.
