Why do we like this?
I keep wondering what kind of live performance Kid Cudi puts on. Is it slow, featuring lots of singing? Is he completely out of tune? Does the audience get lulled into a sleep? (See songs like Mr. Rager). Sometimes I worry that it just wouldn't be that great a show. Then I listen to a song like "Scott Mescudi vs. The World" with Cee-Lo Green. The track is off of Kid Cudi's upcoming Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and it pretty much changes my mind. Temporarily.
That's because another track to have peaked through the cracks is "Marijuana." It's slow again. So here we have Cudi producing introspective tracks, intermixed with high-intensity ones such as "Maniac." Put me on the fence again. I'd be curious to see him live, but I can't help but feel I'd be surrounded by ten-thousand disappointed frat boys who expected to get crunk.
