Brooklyn wonder, King Princess, has shared her latest single, "PAIN," taken from her yet-to-be-titled forthcoming sophomore effort.
Produced by Mark Ronson, who's also collaborating with King Princess on her new album, the track has a real 90s vibe, particularly the upbeat piano line, something King Princess also recognized when chatting with Zane Lowe on Apple Music.
"Pain" is cool because... It's probably my favourite song I've ever written. It makes me so happy when I listen to it. I haven't gotten sick of it. I like when it's on in the background or my girlfriend just did my new video, she was... I had to hear it a bajillion times through the editing process. I was just like, 'This song makes me so happy.' And I think what I love about it is it's got that f-king piano. It's the ultimate George Michael meets Erotica era Madonna meets an incredible remix if you're in a gay club that makes you uncomfortable and horny.
It's certainly got that late-night club feel to it but is also the type of tune I'd play cruising to the beach in the summer or as the backing track for a house party. Either way, it's a fantastic song and a great late entry for one of the best songs of 2020.
