If It Makes You Feel Better

Sounds like: Chairlift, Blood Orange, Tennis
If effervescent synth-pop with splashes of '80s melancholy and dream-like vocals are your thing then Kira might just be your new favorite band. The London-based duo comprising of Katie (formerly of woozy electronic group RITUAL) and Will (from synth-rock duo Crystal Bats) have created a spellbinding tune with their first release "If It Makes You Feel Better." Traversing soothing synths, charismatic guitar riffs, and mesmerizing vocals, there's a seductive quality to this track that will leave you wanting more. Speaking with Wonderland Magazine about how the song came about and its meaning the band had this to say: The whole thing came together really quickly. I’d made a basic track and sent it to Katie and within minutes she replied with a voice note of the chorus melody. It was at that point we decided to form the band, and Kira was born. People have a tendency to play games, whether or not they’d like to admit it, and often it can feel like you’re dating with your egos rather than focusing on having a genuine connection with somebody. Influenced by everyone from Blood Orange to Fleetwood Mac, Kira's debut is a wondrous slice of synth-pop nostalgia, and I for one can't wait to hear what they come up with next.
