The Aussie music scene is at an all time high, with new and exciting acts continuing to emerge daily across a myriad of genres. But, there are only a few that generally have an impact, and boy/girl duo Klo are one of those rare artists to do so.
Under the monkier Klo, cousins Simon Lam anad Chloe Kaul have seemingly come from nowhere with their debut single, "Make Me Wonder," a sensual and hypnotic downtempo number packing an emotional punch.
Lam, a noted producer and vocalist/drummer for Melbourne trio Ill's, handles production, fabricating a lush yet minamilistic sound that's reminiscent of James Blake or Shlohmo. Then there's Kaul. While not as well-known in music circles as her cousin, she possess a gorgeous, charismatic vocie - recalling LA's Banks - that melts the heart and adds an emotional depth to Lam's lush production.
"Make Me Wonder" is an amazing track, made even more special due to the fact this is Klo's first release. If there's only one Australian band you keep your eye on this year, make sure it's Klo.
