200 Tree Rings is a fantastic piece of work, rabid and frenetic. One of my favorite moments on the LP is a pensive break. On "Film Roll Splices And The Deleted Scenes,"our lycanthropic lead takes us on a hyperlocal stroll down memory lane on Ritalin.
We speed between memories of playing Sega with Afrikan Islam, rocking Conart, finding dope falafel on 7th & Irolo, and partying next to Typer Perry. KTO paints a vivid picture of L.A. that reconciles the surreal life in Los Angeles over a warm Ras_G composition. The music is a calm and collected foil to the Guy Ritchie-like pace The Odd keeps.
It's this ability to be full of nuances that makes Koreatown Oddity an MC to keep watch over.
