Perth artist Kùcka's "Divinity" (which I posted here in November) is a track that I've hear many, many times recently, and I'm yet to tire of it. Considering how much new music I hear every week, that's pretty cool, I must admit.
Now, Aussie electro-hip hop duo Milwaukee Banks has flipped the track on its head, giving it a really interesting new feel.
While I certainly described the original track as experimental electronic, Milwaukee Banks has not only twisted the rhythms and general atmosphere toward a much darker place, but they've added their own rap verses to it.
A strong voice in the new generation of Australian hip-hop, Milwaukee Banks' verses and warped synths have taken a sultry electronic track and made it a gorgeous piece of evocative electro-R&B.
A match made in musical heaven, this really is a wonderful remix.
