Kygo is probably one of the more popular artists to emerge this year after a slough of remixes that have aroused the masses. His remixes included tracks by The Weeknd, Coldplay, M83, Marvin Gaye, and the list continues, most of which were highly played in my rotation.
The Norwegian DJ/producer is gearing up for his debut album, and has released the first bit of material in the single "Firestone." The tropical house track features a layered and melodic hook featuring Conrad that rubs your ears in all the right ways.
Since all that we've pretty much heard to date were remixes, it's nice to know that this guy who we've grown to like over the year can actually finish the deal with some original music. This being the first taste of the new album, I am excited to hear what is in store.
The new album is due out next year, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
