Why do we like this?

After commencing his solo project just over a year ago, Melbourne musician Lanks (Will Cuming) has quickly become one of the more consistently excellent local performers. Releasing new music every couple of months (including his debut EP, Thousand Piece Puzzle), he has generated a considerable buzz. His single "Beach House" even appeared on our recent Best Australian Music Of 2014 playlist.

His latest release, "Hold Me Closer," once again showcases Lanks' unique talents, a blend of heartfelt vocals, live instrumentation, and clever use of electronics. The track builds beautifully, and its culmination is an absolute outburst of sound which manages to retain the delicate balance he's developed throughout.

"Hold Me Closer" is available for a limited time as a free download via Lanks' website, and will appear on his second EP (due out in the coming months.
