Why do we like this?

Looking for some music to reflect to, I came across this little lofi indietronica gem of a jam by Lawrence Lui. It was like waking up to a bright sunny spring morning—birds chirping, butterflies breaking out of their cocoons, flowers blooming wide open.

Then the Leonard Cohen-esque vocal chimes in and wakes me up to this new year, where things will attempt to become better than the last year; where dreams will become reality and nightmares will go forgotten.

The production is solid, smooth and beautifully mixed. The levels never peak, so they never bother your ears. That's what I dig the most about all the bells and whistles moving around here, that they all seem to fit right into place. Like this mountain under this crisp blue sky I'm about to snowboard down soon after hitting replay on "Honey So Blue."

Thanks for this chilled out jam, Lawrence. I hope 2018 is a great year for your music.
