Why do we like this?

It's been nearly a year since we last heard from Melbourne producer Leaks (Thomas Guida). His previous single "Often It's You" was one of my favorite tracks of 2013. Lucky for us, the wait for new music is over -- an EP is slated for release in the coming months. Even better news is that the first single from said record is now available.

"Underthought" is a strong return for the 20-year-old artist. While it maintains the atmospheric and dreamy nature we've heard from his earlier work, there's a definite UK garage undertone on this one. What sets Guida's work apart from a number of other up-and-comers is his confidence displayed in hazy, honest vocals -- a clear highlight on this latest work.

Leaks' upcoming EP Jaunt is due out in November through Zero Through Nine.
