Why do we like this?

I was unfamiliar with Detroit quartet Liquid Monk before this song appeared in my inbox. A quick Google search and I soon discovered Liquid Monk were fast becoming ones to watch out for. Their warmly received five track EP, Yaga, is a collection of jazz and funk inspired tunes that was received warmly, while their live show has been widely endorsed, with Liquid Monk integrating organic instrumentation with electronic soundscapes and an assortment of rappers and vocalist to create an enthralling live performance. 

"On The Rocks" is Liquid Monk's first taste of their upcoming self-titled debut record and it's an absolute belter. A super chilled slow jam with effortless groove, "On The Rocks" will have you swaying along to its downbeat jazz melodies, with Jaye Prime's soothing hook and Hugo Biggs' laid-back rhymes adding to the layers of musical wonder found in this tune.

If "On The Rocks" is anything to go by, Liquid Monk's debut is set to be one album you don't want to miss.
