Sounds like:
Tinariwen,
Oumou Sangaré
Why do we like this?
There's a band called Tinariwen that I've quite enjoyed since a flatmate introduced them to me in ~2008. Discovering their music opened up the doors to a whole lot more of a similar variety of North African sounds, and it hasn't grown old for me.
Enter Morocco-based artist Wa3aK with a remix of Maalem Mahmoud Guinia. It's pretty dope.
To quote the artist:
Gnawa music is a type of movement driven spiritual music mostly known in north-western Africa. This remix emphasizes that movement with electro house dance music.
Lufferly.
