I'm not usually one for grungier music. And yet, Mackeeper has captured my attention with "Holy Moses."
Taste is a strange thing. It's built from countless little influences -- what we've heard, what we've been told, what we've loved, what we've rejected -- and eventually, somewhere along the way, we arrive at, "This is my preference."
But trace that preference back to its source and there may be surprisingly little that's truly ours. Just a long trail of influences, associations, and accidents that somehow led us here.
So consider "Holy Moses" my little petition to loosen the grip of preference. To listen without deciding in advance. To leave the door open for each new thing.
Fresh.
