Why do we like this?

The Portland electronic duo Mackintosh Braun has been making music together for the past eight years. With two albums under their belt and a brand new one forthcoming, the guys are looking to continue to expand on their sound, exemplified by their track "We Ran Faster."

It kicks off with a dark vibe: a synth line protrudes through a simple drum beat and some affected vocals. I just can't help but think this song would have fit perfectly on the Donny Darko soundtrack. This is a track with some seriously intricate production; all of its different pieces fit well together, creating the perfect late night jam.

Keep your ears open for Mackintosh Braun's album Arcadia, dropping soon, with 80s vibes hopefully included.
