Marc Cotterell of Albuquerque, New Mexico just wrote the book on house. But more importantly, Albuquerque? Only time I've ever spelled that out was paired with "leaving" or "through," if you know what I mean.
But Cotterell must know something we don't. British born, since 1994 he's accomplished so, so much in three different continents. How he settled in Albuquerque is probably a really good story. As it turns out, Cotterell is also the founder of label Plastik People. Maybe he wanted to get away from all the plastic people....
"For Those We Love" is a full blown homage to house. The vocals shout out more classic producers than I can count on one hand and the production itself is bonafide. This version of the tune, however, returns back to the UK for a pumped up Leigh D Oliver edit— carrying the same sentiment of the original but moves the groove from a hip sway to a shoulder bump. You know what I'm saying. And that build though!
Leigh's edit of "For Those We Love" drops Mayy 22 on none other than Plastik People. Enjoy!
