Okay, guilty pleasure here. Maude Latour's "Furniture" is poppy. Far popier than what we normally cover on Indie Shuffle. But also... totally in line with some of my previous guilty pleasures.
The 20-year-old New Yorker has been releasing songs for a couple years now, most-recently a 2019 EP titled Starsick.
What really drew me to "Furniture" was the incredibly rich production value throughout. The 0:33 mark was probably the highlight on first listen: rich synthy bassline coupled with perfectly-executed vocals left my eardrums in a puddle. It was a delight.
And yeah, this is incredibly poppy. No excuses needed though. It's a good song and deserves some love.
