Why do we like this?
I've had a quick think about it, and have decided that there are many reasons why I love world music so much. So often its form is raw and energetic; it's a nice contrast to a lot of the mainstream, studio-produced music we hear on a daily basis. Also, there is usually an eclectic lineup of instruments, and it's forever going to inspire travel and the fascination of different cultures.

I just learned about Melt Yourself Down. They're relatively new on the scene, and are a London-based six-piece made up of a collaboration of other already successful artists. They've been described as a merge of Afro-jazz, punk, and tribal funk, and hearing this album for the first time, I can agree that they certainly encompass a broad style of genres.

Initially I was going to write the review on their track "Kingdom of Crush," except as it's not available on SoundCloud I can only recommend looking it up for yourself. However, this track "We are Enough" is another fast-paced and energetic song that will have your feet tapping and hands clapping. For me, this brings on a juxtaposition of both childhood nostalgia and anticipation for fun times ahead, and sometimes that's the best thing about music.

Melt Yourself Down are playing a few European shows in the lead-up to Christmas, and I can imagine seeing them live would certainly be a great experience. In fact, I'd love to hear from anyone who has been fortunate enough to witness it!
