Why do we like this?
A few weeks ago I noticed this four-piece, hailing from Chicago, while listening to a remix they did of RAC's "Cheap Sunglasses."
Their current offering is a lot darker than what I have previously heard and starts off quite slow and unassuming, building up to a chorus that does not disappoint. In the end, their heavy drum beat and great vocals are a winning combination.
With two time Grammy-nominated vocalist Matthew Santos at the helm, Monakr is set to become the next big thing, and his raw vocal power on the chorus is beautiful to behold.
