It's sunny where I am. It's also 70 degrees already and the sky is super bright. The sun's golden rays make the amber tones look like they're in 3D. It makes the green hues look like they're inside a super HD screen, and it makes the blue sky look like the ocean somewhere off the waters of that cove in the film The Beach.
Now take that description and add this dope new remix of Monomyth's "Skytree" from Donatachi, and you will see exactly why my day has started off *so* good.
Donatachi takes the quality of the sounds used in the original production up a notch or two, and completely shakes up the composition and tempo of the tune, which, in turn, places a new focus on the vocals and leaves us completely mesmerized.
A bit over halfway through the song, Donatachi tucks those same vocals in-between a beautiful interweaving effect provided by a triangle-sounding synth, panned nicely during the mix. It scales the highlight of the vocasl at the beginning, down some to refocus our attention back on the sounds Donatachi has so carefully curated here.
The overlaying bassline synth then takes command of our ears towards the last quarter of the production, alongside some great vocal chops, and once again places focus on Oddeeo's distinct vocals.
It's probably one of Donatachi's best works, to date. Enjoy.
