Why do we like this?

It's not often that a song comes along and stops you in your tracks upon first listen. It's even rarer when it stays stuck in your head for hours afterwards.

On "I'm a Fantastic Wreck," 18-year-old Montaigne (real name Jessica Cerro) delivers one of the stand-out tracks of the year, which also serves as a perfect introduction to this obviously crazy talented young artist.

"I'm a Fantastic Wreck" centres around Cerro's disarmingly raw, in-your-face vocals, accompanied by quirky, minimalist instrumentation akin to the likes of Owen Pallett or Regina Spektor. Her debut EP was produced by Tony Buchen (The Preatures) and is set to be released in the very near future. You can follow Montaigne's inevitable rise on Facebook.
