Sure, this song has over 100K streams on SoundCloud in less than ten days since going live, but it's astounding to me that it has otherwise flown pretty under the radar to this point (like two whole followers on Instagram under the radar). This is my favorite track of 2017 so far.
What do we know about mossy.? Not much. He's based in Los Angeles, has released only this song, and, courtesy of Going Solo, explains that “mossy. is a new audio / visual project which aims to cultivate a greater connectedness with our natural world. as society rapidly moves toward a silicon existence, these sounds reawaken within us a forgotten spirituality that harkens to our indigenous roots. the sounds of trees melting.” Word.
As far as what this sounds like, imagine the Paul brothers and Jack Garratt performing together on a flaming meteor entering the Earth's atmosphere at 100,000 mph. Bottom line: it's really awesome.
