Featured on Mount Kimbie's second album, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, "Made To Stray" is a track that already demands attention with its progressive house beats, experimental use of horns, and heavy percussion.
What I find particularly interesting about this reworking by DJ Koze is the alternative use of rhythms that take the jazz influence from the original and exchanges them with a deep house aesthetic. Such a slight subtraction and addition really makes the difference on this track "“ it doesn't necessarily improve its already spellbinding sound, but it is rather intriguing in comparison. Ultimately what you have here is a completely transformed song that is easy on the ears and technologically transfixing.
