Mura Masa is so Indie Shuffle. His style and sound are everything that attracted me to follow this site as a reader and compel me to share music with you guys as a writer.
This track blends current house and dance trends with samples and tropical influence. It features vocals from Nao, who rivals Aluna Francis from AlunaGeorge for distinctiveness and tone, and doesn't forget the ever-so-trendy 'squeak' that Peking Duk samples a fair bit in his music. "Firefly" is from the Someday Somewhere EP, which you can stream here.
If you forget the fact this is a stunning tune, the other fantastic thing is that the producer hails from Guernsey. If you're not a British national, you might want to Google that, but I think it's brilliant that such a tiny island can spawn such strong talent and then collaborate with another strong newcomer from London. The internet is a wonderful thing.
