Why do we like this?

Nassau is the works of Justin Wilcox and Jeffrey Silverstein who are now based in Brooklyn. The two lived and performed in separate bands in Tennessee and Maryland, however had hours of independent and unfinished tracks recorded. Their debut EP, Hoss, which is due out this Friday, is a cumulative effort to finish those tracks and release something truly special.

From the hazy slide guitar, to the oddly familiar, yet distinct vocals, to the perfectly understated drum beat, "Wake the Dead," has me smitten.
