New Navy. They're an Australian band you're probably already familiar with, and as such, you may be surprised to learn that they have yet to release a debut LP.
Fortunately there's one on the way, and "Rosaline" gives us a taste of what's in store.
Named after a fleeting character in Romeo & Juliet (Rosaline was a brief fling of Romeo's, prior to his meeting Juliet), the song begins by layering crisp guitar riffs over slightly tropical beats. From there, the tension builds and builds, hitting a crescendo as it approaches the 1-minute-mark. Not ones to play their hand all at once, the band intersperse numerous key changes and bridges throughout the song, ultimately bringing the listener back to the catchy hook of a chorus.
Be sure to give these guys a follow on SoundCloud -- you won't regret it!
