Why do we like this?

Having taken shape in 2007, Melbourne institution No Zu is the epitome of a patient build. The eight-piece band has recently announced release details for a new album (following on from their 2012 debut LP), and have shot back into the spotlight on the back of said record's debut single.

Released last week, the interestingly titled "Ui Yia Uia" is just as interesting a listen. A steady, droning beat is all that regulates this track, with curious instrumentation and otherworldly vocal chants giving this track an almost extraterrestrial undertone. I genuinely can't stop listening to it; it's one of those songs you pick out something new and wonderful each time through.

No Zu's new album will be released via legendary Australian label Chapter Music (Twerps, Dick Diver, Pikelet) early next year!
