Hey guys, I've figured out where all the swagger has gone: Melbourne glam-pop act Pearls has stolen it!
Having released a 7" and EP since their inception in 2011, the trio have supported the likes of Kurt Vile and Total Control, building up a solid support base in the process. Now, Pearls has announced details of their forthcoming debut album, and we have its first single to share with you.
"Big Shot" is a confident new arrival for the band, and sets their LP off on the right foot. A pulsing electronic beat sets the tone from the start, before shredding guitar and sassy, chanted vocals are introduced. There's a really interesting loop arrangement that is finally broken by the track's powerful bridge section -- a highlight of this intriguing song.
Pearls' debut album Pretend You're Mine will be released via
Dot Dash / Remote Control Records in February 2015.
