Why do we like this?
While I do like to think I'm pretty on-point with sharing all the best new Australian music, I'll be the first to admit that music sometimes falls through the cracks. But, rather than sweep it under the rug, I'm man enough to own up to my mistakes -- so here goes!

I actually always thought I'd reviewed at least one or two singles from Brisbane five-piece Pigeon. But after getting myself a hard copy of their latest EP, 2012's Fortunes, I realized my error, with only a couple of their remixes currently gracing Indie Shuffle playlists (check out Sun City's remix of their current single "Curtain Call").

With a new EP on the way (the band's third), it's a good chance to look back at one of their earlier singles, "All That Bad," a slick, intelligent pop track that shows off the band's versatility. Not pigeonholing themselves (boom!) as a typical indie pop act, Pigeon use a variety of influences to create a sound that is similar to pop innovators like Miike Snow and Friendly Fires.

Better late than never right? Make sure to check out the band's well-stocked SoundCloud for previous releases and remixes.
