Electronic music seems to be the one of the broader genres on Indie Shuffle: we could probably have compiled a “Best Of” for at least five different sub-genres. And so, given the huge pool, we needed to knuckle down and figure out what deserved to make the cut.
Fortunately I was joined by my fellow Senior Staffers and electronic aficionados, Dwayne and Liz. Together, we pooled our top 10 choices, voted, and adjusted the selection until we were all happy. What we came up with is, in my opinion, a great mix of die-hard hits and undeniable 2013 listener favorites (though clearly it pains me to see some of my deep house favorites left off this year’s list).
What’s best for the dance floor is not always best for a desktop listen, and what hits in the club on one side of the globe might not shake as many souls on the other. With that in mind, it’s amazing to me that three very different people in very different parts of the world can agree on ten of the most influential electronic tracks of 2013. Pretty spectacular, methinks.
I have a feeling our choices are going to surprise you too, so as always, we hope you enjoy what we came up with.
