I took a walk yesterday and the air was heavy. Not cold, not windy. Just heavy and slightly damp. It smelled like it was going to rain. And as I walked along, slowly, deliberately, I began to notice little signs of decay. A plant with leaves beginning to turn brown, curling inward. Old newspapers stacked up on a staircase. Paint chipping on someone's front door. These things are around us all the time, I suppose, but the transition of the season makes them more prominent, more important somehow. I made this week's Sunday Night Chill playlist with that feeling in mind, imagining that this would have made the perfect backdrop to my tour of the neighborhood. Enjoy. Image credit: my Instagram
