Who is Pool Boy?
Apparently "Deluxe Oceanview" was created in, and inspired by, a coastal Vancouver view, but the label upon which Pool Boy LP was released (Coastal Haze) is keeping the identity of the producer a secret.
Why? Who knows, but for a label that is linked with Seb Wildblood, one has to wonder if Pool Boy isn't just the balearic beat bliss of some UK mastermind. I'm not saying it's Wildblood, I'm just saying it's someone equally as amazing at creating the chillest, most quality sounds. Like, Cyril Hann, who just so happens to live an Vancouver.
I've been slowly collecting a playlist with that vaguely tropical, balearic sound - my interpretation of what fits in that box, anyway. Happy to add "Deluxe Oceanview" to the list. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm turning on my sunlamp and dreaming myself on some coconut littered island, listening to the soft kiss of waves on a sandy shore...
