Scrolling through the Twitterverse yesterday, I felt my heart skip a beat at the headline, “Meet The 20-year-old 'Female Gesaffelstein.'” I spent the rest of my afternoon getting acquainted with the talented DJ/producer Rezz. Now, allow me to introduce you.
Isabelle Rezazedeh is a wildly ambitious, 20 year old from Niagara Falls. I don’t know about you, but when I was 20 years old, I was failing Spanish classes and trying not to starve to death in a dorm room. Rezz, on the other hand, is creating nightmarish beats and unleashing a beautiful darkness on the world.
If you not-so-secretly enjoy artists that wield black magic, cower before Rezz. I mean, come on, the title of this track is “Lucifer.” Brace yourself for five delicious minutes of brooding, chilling sounds. You may hear a few faint screams tucked in there, too.
The blossoming artist just signed a record to mau5trap Records, and has plans to premiere unreleased music at various festivals over the next few months. If you’re festival hopping and see her name on the schedule, don’t miss it. It's a fantastic excuse to humble brag, “I saw her when,” in the coming years.
