Why do we like this?

Who is Rippls? It's a mystery!

What we do know is that he's from New Zealand who has had a "fair amount of success" as the guitarist for a heavy rock'n'roll band. So, "Make Some Light" clearly marks a bit of a departure from that sound...

 

The song itself is hypnotic, pulsating through an electronic beat that reminds me a bit of Slow Magic. I can't say I'd put this on at a party, but I certainly don't mind it coming up in my headphones while doing some work.
