Why do we like this?
As the weather turns colder here in San Francisco, I've found myself turning to "winter music" - slower, acoustic songs that match my mood while I drink tea and watch the fog roll in. But when I first heard "Indian Summer" by Rotary Downs, I realized that we all need some warmer, heavier tracks from time to time, even if all I'm in the mood for is Bon Iver and Iron and Wine.

The opening guitar on "Indian Summer" brings to mind tunes from Red Hot Chili Peppers, but when the vocals kick in, you know that the song is entirely Rotary Downs' own. Hailing from New Orleans, Rotary Downs' indie/folk rock is fuzzy without being too noisy.

And when those horns kick in, you know that this band is staying true to their southern roots while exploring the psychedelic indie rock territory.
