Samm Henshaw is a new UK soul artist who I am so elated to share with you today.
He's just released "Only Wanna Be With You," a "soulful freestyle" track in celebration of his new publishing deal with BMG and famed pop songwriter Wayne Hector (Nicki Minaj, One Direction).
One of the SoundCloud comments on this track says, "It's like maple syrup for your ears," and, well, I wholeheartedly agree.
This is a feel-good track if I ever knew one. It feels like home. It feels like something I've known and loved for years, and could have easily been released ten, or twenty, or probably thirty years ago.
Henshaw's voice is so warm and clasically enriching, you really get to indulge in his abilities throughout each phrase. The backing music is simple and quite bare, allowing the vocals to lead each moment with strength and emotional vitality.
Henshaw will be releasing his next singles, off forthcoming EP The Sound Experiment, in January 2015.
