Schwarze Fiktion Cool Bikini Cool

Way back in ~2007 I went through a huge Silversun Pickups phase. Heck, I was into pretty much any sort of shoegaze or kraut rock vibe -- it all sounded good to me.

Thanks to Danish duo Schwarze Fiktion I've gone right back down that rabbit hole, revisiting some albums that had gathered so much dust you could have landed a lunar rover on them.

"Cool Bikini Cool" has a pulsating uptempo approach, with layered and haunting vocals (sung at octave intervals?) that guide a dark and slightly old-school melody that ebbs and flows in a spaced-out manner. And then BOOM. It ends, leaving my ears wondering what the heck just happened.

Needless to say, I like it.
