Why do we like this?
New York City's own Skizzy Mars dropped some new vibes this weekend. It's gotten to the point where fans of SkizTheRapper can consistently expect a solid product from this young dude -- whether it's a full length project or quick single drop, as is the case this time.
His previous mixtape, Phases, was nothing short of great (check that out here if you missed it). The new single titled "Summer11" has a chill, bouncy vibe under the intellectual, experience flow that Skizzy brings. It's really striking a chord for the early fall out here in NYC.
Maybe I'm biased towards Skizzy since I've roamed the same hoods as him for many years, garnering similar life experiences and possibly relating to his lyrics more than others do. That said, there's no doubt he's carved out a unique place in the hip-hop game, providing listeners a sound that is truly his own.
