Alt-pop duo Slenderbodies have returned with their latest dreamy single, “Favorable Colors.” Self-described as being obsessed with guitars and falsettos, this track has both in spades. Lyrically, it resides in that in-between space in a relationship of staying and going; when you know it isn’t working out, but you just can’t get yourself to disengage fully. We've all been there, right? Slenderbodies have, and they're totally along for the ride.
Slenderbodies are pros at building their own sonic psychedelic space, decorated with groovy electronic beats and sparkling synths. Full of dream-pop charm, the free-flowing feel of “Favorable Colors” creates a cinematic soundscape that is truly a pleasure to listen to.
In an interview with Wonderland Magazine, the band comment on their favorite track off their upcoming EP, are we?:
“Personally, Favourable Colours takes the cake for me. It’s not a single, but it was the first song we did collaborating remotely in this new way, and to me was such a beautiful example of really sharing the process in a balanced way. It’s carefree in sound, but was written from a place at the time of frustration. It’s a tangible reminder that through music, and through our bond we can transform difficult experiences into something beautiful and fun.”
