I'm offended that to date we've only shared one Solange track, and that was way back in 2013. So I'm making things right.
Solange's new record A Seat At the Table is deserving of praise, and in particular, I'm quite fond of the Sampha-featuring cut "Don't Touch My Hair." It's slick, marching to the beat of its own empowered drum.
I see why critics and casual fans are eating this album up. Solange has tapped into something real, something true and often hard to hear, and transformed it masterfully into art that screams wisdom without ever raising its voice.
