Statik Selektah has been dropping singles left and right to lather us up for the highly anticipated album, 8.
“Slept to Death” is smooth, slow and packed with rhythmic vocals spread over the beat like marmalade on fresh bread. It’s all sweetness, from the tempo, to the samples and everything sandwiched in between.
The guest spotting lyricists on this track compliment one another’s style and verbiage perfectly. Curren$sy’s southern drawl plays right into Cousin Stizz’s enunciated bars to make a track worth headlining an entire album, yet there are other singles out already that could pull that off. The album should be stacked.
