Why do we like this?

I've only just been introduced to Stella, but was immediately hooked with her in-your-face attitude and slightly raspy vocals.

Coming off the success of her single "Fumes," the San Francisco-born singer-songwriter is back with a cryptic new offering, "New Toy," from debut album Selfish.

Thematically, the track highlights the lack of appreciation people have for each other, treating each other as toys or objects. Her unique take on the future R&B genre is reminiscent of Sade, with a roughshod vulnerability and slightly 90's feel in the production.

Fun fact: Stella is the daughter of the legendary Carlos Santana.
