Why do we like this?

Want to give your music career a bit of a boost? Having one of your tracks remixed by a recognizable band is a sure-fire way to do that.

In that vein, the boys at NY-based Strange Names are no doubt stoked to have veteran indie rockers Yeasayer tackling their single "Ricochet."

The original has a distinctly 80s feel to it, in part owing to a slick reverb effect on the guitars. The remix retains much of that original passion, all the while adding a funky edge that sets it aside as more than an indie rock single.

Strange Names' debut LP Use Your Time Wisely is May 19th via Frenchkiss.
