I've been listening to this song on repeat since it came out on July 8th. Jason featured Stray Fossa's "Are You Gonna Be Okay" earlier this year, which is how I initially started listening. That track was a little more bedroom pop; lo-fi and lowkey, closer to a Real Estate type of sound. "For What Was" highlights a slight switch in style; increasing the tempo and sprinkling more synth lines in there. I'm loving the updated sound they've produced with this one.Stray Fossa is a group of three people: Nick, Will, and Zach. They write, record, and produce all of their music in their attic studio in Charlottesville, Virginia.Needless to say, I'm hooked.
