Why do we like this?

Acoustic-led pop duo, Surfaces, has released an electronic-spiked pop ballad about not wanting to be someone’s second choice.

Aptly called “Next Thing (Loverboy),” the guitar-work sets the scene from the beginning in terms of the emotion behind the song. It’s bright and clear but has a slightly melancholic feel to it, which perfectly encapsulates the general ambiance of the intimate storytelling behind the song. The smooth, easy vocals pull everything together neatly, making this a Summery, light, beach day track about standing strong in your self-worth and not settling for anything less than you deserve.
