Why do we like this?
I'm always on the hunt for music that makes me feel as ecstatic as I did during the Golden Era of indie...the era of Foster the People, Neon Indian, etc. Well, guess what? This song achieved the nearly impossible. Level up: nostalgia unlocked.
Off of their latest album, Hot Motion, British psych-rock trio mix the past and present with retro, reminiscent elements. Here's what front-man, James Bagshaw, said about the track via DIY Mag:
On that track, I can hear influences of stuff that I listened to when I was growing up. There’s almost a nostalgia to that track, even though it’s very forward-looking.
The entire project carries a similar energy to their preceding releases, furthering the image of '70s inspired psych that is Temples. Check out the entire album for a broader scope of what they're capable of as a band. Cheers!
