Why do we like this?
Woah! A brand new song from The Killers, produced by M83!!! And...it's... kind of a letdown.
On paper, this has all the makings of one of 2013's best tracks. But, in practice...well, let's do the context first.
The Killers will be hitting their milestone 10th anniversary on November 11th, and to celebrate they're releasing their first ever Greatest Hits album. While that might seem a little premature (and vain), it does have it's benefits: namely, a couple new songs.
"Shot At The Night" is the first of the lot, and it was produced by M83's Anthony Gonzalez. Together, they seem to have gone for a "classic" feel; something to put them in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame.
Granted, I understand their attempt at an epic song: there are lots of people expecting them to continue to create good music. It's just too bad that even with a little help from M83, they couldn't pull it off.
